The day was August 16.  In history it was the "day Elvis died" and the myriad of fans have celebrated, continued to mourn, and thousands hold the now famous vigil with candlelight each year in Mamphis.

A little closer to home for me, the day represents my wonderful parents wedding anniversary.  In addition, a former colleague and key member of the Gospel Chords, Tom Fowler, celebrated his birthday.

Now, in 2013, the day came together for a momentous occasion that none of us saw coming. David Musselman and Lynn Royce Taylor were in Ohio for family issues and Scott Cole and Tom Fowler continue to live in western PA.  August 16, 2013 was the first time in over 25 years that all of the Chords got together for a reunion dinner.

Here is the first photo taken as the reunion began.  Thanks to the diligent effort of David, he arranged for us all to surprise Tom.  We all had dinner together and even sang through a couple of songs just for old times sake.  The evening was spectacular.

To quote Scott Cole, "It was such a blessing and joy to be with you and the others last night.    God has truly blessed us with an eternal friendship.   Thanks for your influence in my life, my brother!"
